Info and Images for and about Endo

Below is a great link to read and absorb great information regarding Endo; what type of doctor you should be caring for you, images and a more explanatory definition rather than, "you have pain, heavy bleeding and so forth." I also encourage you to do research for yourself so you'll have all aspects and new findings of this disease which will allow you to have  a clear understanding when talking to your doctor and asking questions.

  1. Was just curious what you may think about my case, as I've had a very hard time with doctors. I'm 25 years old & had a pulmonary embolism in 2007 after being on Yaz for a couple months. The doctors have concluded that the reason for the P.E. is only because of the hormones. So, no more hormones for me. I was diagnosed a couple years ago with endometriosis and obviously CANNOT take hormones. The bleeding was so heavy & the pain was so severe that my doctor & I decided to do a uterine ablation. I have one child, and do not plan on having more, so I was okay with the procedure. Since having the ablation, she's gone in twice to remove scar tissue, any endometriosis she could find, cysts, ect. It just seems like I'm going in for laproscopic surgery to remove stuff every 6 months or so & just having to take meds in between. As far as pain control I've tried everything I can think of. Narcotics were the last resort & I am SO sick & tired of being on them. My doctor thought it was time for a partial hysterectomy, but she couldn't preform the procedure so she referred me to another doctor who refused. I'm just not sure what to do anymore. I've been to a few others, to get second opinions, but they all pretty much say the same thing & hand me a bottle of Percocet. :(

    1. Yes, I know it's very frustrating and there are so many doctors who'll refuse you because of your age. Let me ask this, have you tried the Lupron injection? It worked and helped me for more than four years however, it sends your body through early menopause symptoms but the pain, swelling and bleeding stops. The thing is that all avenues must be tried to control the Endo before they'll do a hysterectomy. I was diagnosed at age 18 and didn't have my bi-lateral hysterectomy until I was 25 and my dr. said it had to be done because the Endo was spreading at a rapid pace. So, removal of ovaries, cervix, tubes and ovaries was my surgery. Your case is somewhat complex because you can't take hormones and it's kind of a set up to leave your other organs because it can potentially become a feeding ground for the Endo to attack, which can become a more serious situation. I still battle with Endo because now it's attacking my stomach lining and they think it may have spread to my lungs Endo is a beast and they meaning doctors never tell you the complete ins and outs and they never tell you that it's a benign form of cancer thats why it can't be treated with radiation. Try Lupron I think it'll help a lot. Question where are you located? I may be able to help you find the right kind of doctor or look for a GYN Oncologist they know Endo in its depthness. I hope I've been a help and thanks for asking this important question. We're in this together and whatever info I have I'm willing to share.
